I didn't even realise I had failures switched on. I've been flying the same 737 for a little while - it turns out it suffers from wear and tear, and has consumables that need to be replaced (such as hydraulic fluid). I had complete hydraulics failure today - on the runway, shortly before take-off. The first sign was the flaps had not travelled - which caused the takeoff config warning to go off. The suprise to me - is that you need to check the SYS page on the central EFIS display to check it - there is no warning anywhere else about what has happened (other than low pressure lights on the hydraulic pumps). Took me a minute to figure out what was happening. I learn something new with this plane every day
