We're still unpacking things, building out the discussion boards, and filling them with content - feel free to explore, contribute, and strike up conversation about whatever you might wish to - that's what the forum is here for, after all. Over the next few days I will be organising a small team of moderators too - who will hopefully keep the forum ticking over. It's perhaps worth writing a few notes about what led us towards building a forum for VirtualFlight.Online in the first place. It really all comes down to the shortcomings of Discord and Facebook - which we have been trying to use for the last year. The reality is most people don't use Discord as anything more than a voice chat solution for group flights, and many people don't go anywhere near Facebook if they can help it. When you also factor in Discord being an invite-only platform that requires a desktop application and configuration, we lose a lot of less-technically-proficient people. There's also the issue that neither Discord or Facebook really handle conversations at all well - whereas a forum is designed from the ground up for conversation - with the ability to neatly manage multiple streams of discussion, and most importantly allow posts to be moved where people might have posted in a wrong subject area by accident. Forums also allow you to "follow" specific threads of conversation, and be notified when they are updated - and to see exactly what is new since your last visit. Anyway! Here we are. We have a forum. Go explore! Perhaps start out by introducing yourself in the Introductions board.
